Unbounded: Transmedia Storytelling @ MIT

AN EXHIBITION OF STUDENT WORK BY THE TRANSMEDIA STORYTELLING INITIATIVE

OCT 18—NOV 23, 2021

MIT W20-206

WIESNER GALLERY

What are the limits of contemporary tools for spatialized storytelling? Can we push beyond those limits? Unbounded brings together innovative works by students approaching the ancient human activity of storytelling with a variety of virtual production tools. Whether designing an interface for encountering street protests in the (virtual) comfort of your apartment during a pandemic, imagining a cinematic and sensory fusion with your cat, or contemplating the split between your workspace and its “digital twin,” the media art in Unbounded stretches from standard video into transmedia: the multiplied channels of communication we navigate today, and some being envisioned for tomorrow.
